Reader, I'm currently putting together a report called 300 Entertainment Execs, where I'll be showcasing the results of analysing LinkedIn profiles (and hence personal brands) of 300 live entertainment executives from industry giants like Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Paramount, Moment Factory, Live Nation, Merlin, Six Flags and IAAPA.
20+ hours in and I'm ready to start piecing it all together.
It should be ready in a week or so, but in the meantime I want to share some crazy stats with you.
First Let's Talk Reach
70% had >3K followers:
- 0-1K followers: ~25%
- 1K-3K followers: ~45%
- 3K-6K followers: ~18%
- 6K-10K followers: ~7%
- 10K-20K followers: ~4%
- 20K-50K followers: ~1%
- 50K+ followers: <1%
Activity (How Often They Post)
60% aren't active at all!
- Not Active: ~60% (Silent majority)
- Posting Monthly: ~25% (Casual users)
- Posting Weekly: ~15% (Consistent users)
Types Of Posts (From Active Users)
Most are reposting their company's posts or sharing pics from company events or activations.
- Company events/activations/announcements: ~45%
- Reposts: ~35%
- Thought Leadership: ~20%
But here's where it gets really interesting...
Only 20% were sharing any kind of thought leadership content. And keep in mind that's 20% of the 40% who are active.
That means only 8% of all live entertainment executives are actively building their personal brands on LinkedIn!
I already thought there was HUGE opportunity for live entertainment execs to stand out on LinkedIn (hence why I ghostwrite for them), but now no one can convince me otherwise. It's actually.....
While other industries like B2B SAAS are completely saturated on LinkedIn, live entertainment is sitting on more untapped LinkedIn potential than a crypto bro in 2017.
Mark my words!
So consider this your gentle nudge to go post on LinkedIn today.
And just holler if you need some help.
Alright, that's it for now. I just wanted to share these findings with you because they're just so fricken exciting.
Now off to down some more espresso and get back to this report.
